The Technology
A combination of available technology & disruptive thinking

Waste Reforming Technology (WRT) facilities are designed to divert waste resources from landfill, produce clean base load electricity (BLE) plus create a number of value-add and import replacement products.

The system used in the WRT facilities relates to a unique mechanism, incorporating systems and processes that ignores the thermal content and instead harnesses the carbon content of the waste to generate energy reliably.

It converts all manner of municipal waste into clean BLE with zero emissions. There is no smokestack because all gases emitted are reused within the system, and absolutely no waste is discarded.

Based on existing validated technology, the CER system will transform municipal waste to manufacture emission free resources. The technology is available. The key is understanding how to bring it together and make it work at its full potential. Basically, it is bringing out the best in current technology and adapting it to eliminate current shortfalls.

OVERVIEW OF THE SYSTEM

By creating the standardised inputs from waste this allows CER to control the system and produce the desired products (outputs). Making the material consistent means the system is under control knowing the exact ratios for the gas to be produced.

There are effectively five stages in the process. The equipment for the various stages is available, validated and in use. CER has adapted the existing equipment.

INPUTS

The CER system can accept all municipal waste (except for nuclear and asbestos) because in phase one (the FEED system) of the process a consistent waste material is created. Due to the blend created, the waste material may comprise a single type of waste or different combined types of waste.

Coal fines traditionally treated as discarded waste from coal mining can cause significant environmental risk. In addition to municipal waste the CER system can utilise coal fines as an input.

The major difference with this system is that the feedstock is formulated into consistent waste material, that is why it has the flexibility to use any municipal waste, no sorting or cleaning required.

REFORMING

The entire waste inputs are converted into valuable commodities, in whatever proportions are determined and required. The WRT system creates carbon, syngas and producer gas which can be converted into pure hydrogen.

This Hydrogen can them be reformed into the following products:

  • Clean Base Load Electricity

  • Hydrogen

  • CO2

  • Ammonia (NH3)

  • Ammonia Sulphate

  • MAP/ DAP (Mono Ammonium Phosphate and Di Ammonium Phosphate)

  • Urea (NH2CONH2)

  • Bio Char (Carbon)

  • Activated Carbon

  • Carbon Black (Mainly from Tyres)

  • Sulphur (mainly from Tyres)

  • Sulphuric Acid (From Cooking Sulphur)

  • Methanol (From Methane)

  • Tall Oil (From Acidification Wash of Conifer Waste)

  • Bio Diesel (80% Emission Free)

  • Blue Tech (32% Urea, 78% Water)

The resulting outputs deliver valuable resources that may solve current and future supply issues.
